Project overview
On Bittensor, the base chain coordinates a collection of independently designed markets called subnets. A subnet can reward anything from model inference and data collection to storage or forecasting. Its miners supply the service, while validators apply the scoring rules written for that market.
TAO emissions make those rankings economically consequential, but they should not be mistaken for a universal test of AI quality. Because each subnet defines its own task and evaluation method, Bittensor is better understood as an incentive framework for competing digital services than as a single decentralized model.
